Strategic Partnerships & Business Development Lead
Meriel leads and coordinates HCN’s efforts to cultivate and grow high-value alliances with government agencies, nonprofits, philanthropic foundations, corporations and advertising agencies to develop strategically focused social marketing campaigns designed to improve quality of life for US Latino communities. With a range of experience across industries and sectors, she brings a collaborative negotiation approach that creates innovative programs and solutions to meet organizational and funder goals while also meeting the needs of diverse Hispanic communities HCN serves.
Previous to HCN, Meriel worked in international public health development and non-profit/CSR sectors in Washington, D.C., and the hospitality industry in Las Vegas. Through this experience she has developed an expertise in marrying public and private sector best practices to create partnerships that tackle complex sustainability and developing world challenges. Additional past leadership experience includes marketing and communications positions within tourism and health care industries, and at fortune-500 companies.
Outside of HCN, Meriel is a dancer and Board Member of the Four Seasons Dancers (www.fourseasonsdancers.com), a non-profit dance troupe dedicated to the development, exploration, and advancement of International Dance. They strive to service and promote the artorm, and are committed to becoming an educational resource promoting an understanding, appreciation, and celebration of world cultures through dance.
Meriel holds an MBA in International Business Strategy and Marketing from American University in Washington, D.C., and a BA in International Affairs from Colorado University-Boulder.
